The Xemplar Foundation is a 501c3 Charitable Foundation. The Xemplar Club of Farmington & Farmington Hills is a 501c3 Public Charity. Both are all-volunteer service organizations for men and women who want to serve their community, develop leadership skills and enjoy new friendships. Our club is made up of individuals from all walks of life in the community including doctors, judges, business owners, retirees, city and school officials. Every dollar raised by our non-profit charity goes directly to supporting local programs. Each Memorial Day, our members hand out over 4,000 American flags to children along the parade route in Farmington. Beginning in 2014, we became the Project Managers for the Memorial Day Parade.
In January of 2010, our 73 members voted to become the Xemplar Club of Farmington & Farmington Hills, an independent community service group. While we valued the past 85 years we were affiliated with a national organization (the Exchange Club), our members felt we could better serve our local community by becoming independent. Our members have always unselfishly served our community and worked to improve the quality of life for those less fortunate. Each year we raise and donate over $25,000 to more than 40 local charities, programs and organizations to benefit at-risk children, seniors and families.
New members are always welcome, and we encourage you to consider joining the oldest service organization in our community. We meet each Wednesday when Farmington Public Schools are in session, from early September through mid-June, at 12:00pm for lunch at Cowley's Restaurant in downtown Farmington. The meetings are filled with fellowship, fun and education, with a different guest speaker presenting each week. We are a tax exempt (501c3) public charity. Donations to the Xemplar Club are tax deductible to the full extent permitted by law.
