We need to remember with sincere respect those who paid the ultimate price for the freedoms we sometimes take for granted
We need to keep in sacred remembrance those who died serving our country.
We need to never let them be forgotten.
We need to take a few moments from our day to honor them, and to thank their families for the incredible sacrifice they endure everyday.
You are receiving this email based on your past affiliation with the Farmington Memorial Day Parade. We wanted to be sure you knew about our new home online at www.memorialdayparade.us. We'll be using the web site this year to register and communicate with all of the groups that are marching in the parade. If your organization is planning to march with us this year, please visit the web site and sign up. There is no charge to march in the parade, although elected officals are asked to make a donation to the American Legion.
The Memorial Day Parade will be held on May 26 this year. We are already hard at work planning the event. If you would like to be part of the planning process, read on!
The Farmington Memorial Day Parade Committee will meet on Tuesday night, May 13, at the Groves-Walker American Legion Post 346 on Grand River Avenue in Farmington at 7:00pm. This is the fourth meeting of the group this year, and the number of attendees is growing. We're excited about that as the parade comes under new management this year, and new volunteers are welcome and encouraged to join in supporting this great cause.
We are already hard at work on things like arranging flyovers, finding a Grand Marshall, creating a ceremony to honor our veterans, and so much more. If you have some great ideas, want to be involved, and value community service, please join us. It takes a lot of people to make our parade an unforgetable experience, and welcome new comers.
